What is RateYourHospitalStay.com?

RateYourHospitalStay.com is an on-line survey that unites past patients and those needing hospitalization.  This site gathers and computes the opinions of recently hospitalized individuals and then scores and publicizes their opinion. Somewhat like a report card or 5 star rating score.  Consumers, who may be needing hospitalization, will be able to gather information and make better health care decisions about which health care facility may best fit their needs.

Why should I participate in your survey?

By completing the survey you are providing information to many individuals and eventually the actual hospital itself. It gives you the opportunity to voice your opinion both positively or negatively.  Your opinion helps those individuals that are looking to stay at a hospital, the opportunity to gather information to help choose a hospital or facility that best fits their needs. Additionally, by making this information public on our site, we force hospitals to evaluate their patient care services.

Is there a charge to complete a survey?

Our site is free of charge to consumers. Because we strive to provide clear, honest and the best possible information to consumers we will not be funded or supported by any hospital or healthcare corporation. We want to always provide nonbiased information. Our support comes solely from the advertising sponsors on the site.

Why do I have to register?

By registering your information, you are ensuring the validity of the information you give.  Consumers will be given truthful information that comes from individuals like them.  RateYourHospitalStay.com does not sell or give any private information to outside sources.

 Is my personal information made public?

Only personal comments left at the end of the survey become public information.  This information is only used on our site. All answers on the actual survey are combined with other surveys and calculated into the overall score for the facility.

What kind of comments can I leave about my hospital experience?

You may leave any comment, positive or negative, as long as they relate to your hospital experience.  This may include staff that cared for you. RateYourHospitalStay.com encourages positive feedback of special staff members (including names) that have gone above and beyond your expectations.  Any inappropriate comments will be flagged and removed for the site.

How is a hospital’s rating calculated?

We base our rating on a Five Star System much like you would find in the hotel or hospitality industry with:

1 Star    =     UNACCEPTABLE
2 Stars     =    POOR
3 Stars    =    AVERAGE
4 Stars    =    GOOD
5 Stars    =    EXCELLENT

All ratings are combined for each individual hospital facility to arrive with an average rating score.

Am I rating my Doctor in your survey?

NO.  In no way do we want to second guess the knowledge, experience or professional service your personal doctor provides. Our survey attempts to rate the hospitals facilities and the treatment you received in and by the hospital staff.

What if I don’t find my hospital listed on your site?

Simply contact us via the “Contact Us” page with the name, city & state of your hospital and within 72 hours we will add it to the site.
